What was I doing?
This week has been a mixture of being above and on target. I've mostly been continuing to organise assets/documentation in preparation for filming, alongside (most importantly) collecting equipment from college in preparation for it's extended closure. I've also been undertaking more experiments, both digitally and physically. This includes the creation of a poster, and documenting the development of this. And also utilising the equipment to do a test shoot to ensure that my shots were achievable and to help highlight any potential changes before continuing with production.
How was I feeling?
It's been a difficult week honestly, and I think that goes for most people. College closed from Thursday onward, and there's been a heightened sense of uncertainty around the project. My interim video explains how I intend to go forward, and despite the Government restrictions since getting tighter, I still aim to try and continue as normal. Albeit with some modifications along the way to compensate for not being able to use an actor.
Aside from the ongoing virus issues, I have been feeling okay. I want to keep myself busy and maintain some self-motivation, so I wrote a list of tasks to keep me on track which I've been working through throughout most of the weekend and into Week 8.
What were the pros and cons?
One of the most obvious cons would be the disorganisation of potential actors, having to organise and cancel people coming to film. This has however been out of my control. One positive point is my organisation in other areas. I feel that I am getting a better grasp on my project as a whole, and despite there being many logistical issues, I am beginning to see the potential of the product. The test shoot, in combination with the poster experiments and additional shot list work have all contributed towards making me feel better about the undertaking.
What more could've I done?
I believe that I completed everything I needed to this week, even being ahead earlier in the week. I maybe could've dedicated more time to planning promotional material before carrying out experiments within this, but this is something I intend to work on later in the project.
What's next?
There is some difficulty surrounding next steps, however, I intend to be able to utilise the equipment I have and continue with production. This will mean that I myself will have to act in replacement for an actor, however I am fairly confident in doing this. Otherwise, I can be creating some digital assets and also considering how promotional material will work.
